Plot

Ideas for roleplay are influenced by various book series, most popularly Laurell K. Hamilton

Since the begining of man, 1Fae kind has kept their identity secret, surviving in the shadows and places no human would ever go. As man grew and advanced, Fae found keeping their existence hidden to be much more difficult. Many times cases occurred where a Fae was founded. Extreme action was the only way to continue living in the dark. In 1973, just after the Vietnam War, the Fae courts decided to make themselves known. Upon introducing several hundred new species to the world, deals were made globally. Many 2Fae Mounds become visible and reachable to the world, planted over various continents. It took many years before equality reached them. Fae kind followed closely in the legal footsteps of African Americans. Now, they coexist in the world, living daily next to humans. Many have chosen to still conceal their true identity, while many others openly broadcast what they truly are.

1 = Fae is a shortened term for Faerie, a mystical realm of magic and supernatural creatures. Fae are identified as the inhabitants of that realm.
2 = Fae Mounds are entrance ways into the Fae court. Each mound contains its own court and has various appearances.

Fae mounds enter into that court's main home while deeper within offer a portal into Faerie. Fae are rather
particular about who may and may not enter the portals and generally only permit those primarily of Fae
blood through. While each mound is represented by a monarch, King or Queen of sorts, the governments do
not really recognize their authority. Many Fae that have integrated into society (mostly non Seelie or Unseelie)
choose to no longer follow the royal name. Those same royal monarchs generally ignore any acts against
the court unless it becomes too apparent to the public eye. They must keep appearances after all.

The types of Fae kind vary in numbers of the hundreds. They include but are not limited to Goblins, Trolls,
Werewolves, Vampires, Incubi & Succubi, etc. The Seelie and Unseelie are very similar yet vastly different.
The Seelie kind are beings defined by light and beauty. Unseelie is defined by darkness and chaos. In truth,
both courts are things of beauty and chaos, represented by Sidhe. Seelie pride in their lighter skin tones and
bodily features where Unseelie are seen more as darker, ranging from purple skin tones to reds. Human skin
tones are found more in the Seelie which in turn make humans more accepting of their kind. Though all
these physical features can be found on both sides. Both courts prefer to remain close to their mounds though
it is not unheard of for them to venture into the world of man. Half breeds of these creatures are very common.

Who do you wish to be?
The human that adores these supernatural creatures?
Or perhaps you are the human that hates them and has sworn to end their existence?
Maybe a Fae race trying to get by in a human world?
A Fae still hiding and plotting the demise of humans?
A court member too scared of the new world?
Who are YOU?

The three sections below are concepts found throughout Faerie Mythology. Many of them are taken primarly from the the Merry Gentry book series by Laurell K. Hamilton.

Laws of Faerie

A set of known laws amongst Faerie. Even the oldest obey.

1.) Harm none as it would defy the balance. Only when your own being is endangered or that of others may you rob life.
2.) Raise none as it would defy nature. No being shall rise in flesh and blood once their final breath leaves.
3.) Your oath is your life. Once broken so is your soul. A broken soul defies the balance and that which has passes belongs to the past.
4.) Unification of souls is celebratory and sacred. Upon unification no being shall dishonor this joining by being unfaithful to their spouse.
5.) To defile that of nature is to deny your own existence and surrender your life.

Customs of Fae

Popular customs among the Fae that are most commonly followed.

1.) Dueling is permitted amongst Fae, even if it results in death.
2. Glamour amongst Fae is insulting and lowly.
3. For one Fae to not appreciate the beauty of another Fae is insulting.
4. To lie is to break your word and oath. Though a silver tongue can still manipulate with truths.
5. Refusing aid to whom in which you've indebted yourself is equivalent to breaking oath.
6. Fishing for information on a personal matter is offensive.
7. King/Queen word is law.
8. Children are most sacred to all of Fae for they are the future of Faerie.
9. Thanking older Fae is instulting.

Human Laws

Laws put into place by USA humans upon integration of Fae.

1.) Glamour is prohibited to be used on anyone of the media. Major glamour is prohibited on anyone of citizenship.
2.) Anything of magical ability that denies a person of their natural rights and/or freewill is prohibited. Especially that which would conflict with already pre-existing laws.
3.) No war is to be issued by any Fae on American soil.
4. No Fae can be worshipped as a god/dess and/or take followers.
